Trouble Shooting your Identity or Sekurit system





Many issues with a no-start condition are not the cause of the security system. Below we have listed many of the reasons a newer vehicle may not start.

  1. The vehicle makes a clicking sound but will not start. The vehicle's battery is too low to crank. With the Sekurit / Identity system, the vehicle will not make a sound when you attempt to start it. It may be a solenoid or starter.
  2. The key will not turn in the lock cylinder. This is a factory feature call a "Steering wheel lock". To free, turn the key in the ignition while pulling the steering wheel from side to side. The key may be worn out and a new key needs to be purchased.
  3. The vehicle has no interior lights and everything is dead. The vehicles' battery is dead or too low. Jump or replace the vehicle's battery.
  4. The Personal Identifiers have power but nothing happens when the key is turned. If this vehicle is a manual shift, be sure to push the clutch petal completely down while starting the vehicle. If your vehicle is an automatic shift, make sure the shifter is in park.
  5. On the instrument dash panel a security light is flashing. This is a factory system condition, not ours. Try locking and unlocking the door with the key, This will sometimes reset the factory unlock feature.
  6. The vehicle's engine will turn over but will not start. This is not our system. We interrupt the starter, if it is our system, there is nothing that happens when the key is turned to the start position.

Issues with our system that may be remedied

  1. No light on the Identifier when the label is pressed. Change the battery in the remote.
  2. You changed the battery and still have no light. Check to be sure the battery is in correct side up, (the battery information is facing up). see battery installation instructions listed in owner's guide. Video Click Here
  3. You now need to press the label to start the vehicle. The system mode my have been accidentally changed. Sekurit will change modes when the label is pressed for 8 seconds.
